Andrea Palladio Author and sculptor, Andrea Palladio (1508–1580), was known for creating many palaces. He visited Rome and measured its ancient structures. Like Alberti, Palladio created buildings that looked similar to ancient Roman architecture but were adapted to the materials and needs of his time period.
