Uppercase letters are all tall, so they touch the skyline. They sit on the baseline.

  The lowercase letters are tall, small, and below-the-line letters. Tall and small letters sit on the baseline. Tall letters touch the skyline. Small letters touch the midline. Below-the-line letters touch the midline and sit on the baseline but hang below. Practice the lowercase letters.

Baseline
